I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in child and family therapy.
Background
I have over 12 years of experience as a child and family therapist and clinical psychologist in a community mental health setting, as well as private practice. I work closely with primary care physicians to coordinate care.
I provide mental health care using an interpersonal style, which focuses on the therapeutic relationship. Empathy, trust, and respect are developed in a supportive, collaborative environment. I incorporate a blend of conventional and alternative approaches to help clients resolve current problems and transform long-standing patterns of behavior. This allows integration of cognitive-behavioral or other treatment techniques as needed. The interconnection of body, mind, and spirit influences my holistic view of mental health. I believe contact with the natural world is important for mental and emotional well-being, and I often incorporate nature-oriented activities into therapy. Services include individual and familiy counseling, psychological assessment, and consultation.
Education
I have a PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) from Pacific University School of Professional Psychology in Forest Grove, Oregon. I also have an MS in Psychology from Portland State University, and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
License
I am licensed as a Clinical Psychologist by the Oregon Board of Psychologist Examiners (License #1956).
